Work in Pensieve is event driven, so the ward list, the queue and the ledger move as the work moves rather than at the next batch.
A registration, an order, a result or a payment is an event the platform reacts to when it happens. Nothing waits for an overnight job to make one system agree with another, because there is one record underneath all of them.
Traffic from the machines a hospital already runs arrives over the orophin bridge. The bridge holds a durable outbox, so if the link to an analyser or a registry drops, messages queue and deliver on reconnect instead of being lost.
We are direct about the boundary. The staff application is a cloud application and needs connectivity; it is the machine traffic that survives an outage.
